Edge Computing

What is “edge computing” ?

The “edge computing can be defined as being about placing workload as close to the edge where the data being created and action being taken as possible. There are two kinds of “edge computing” one of them is “edge server” it is basically an IT (Information Technology) equipment but could be anything that build for the purpose of IT workload. And another one is “edge devices” like “edge server” it could be anything like a assemble machine, car etc. A car because nowadays in a car average of five CPUs are using that connects the car to the “IoT” (Internet of Things) as well as “edge computing“.
With “edge Computing” data is not send to the cloud but acted on act the source creating real-time insights. With “edge computing” we are able to do things that nearly impossible to do , there are lots of use cases of “edge computing” one of them is “Autonomous driving“. How “Autonomous driving” work is there centres already a all over these cars even a car you just buy today that can tell you when you backing off when you getting close to something but if you take it to a step further to the “Autonomous world” you are gonna have more of these centres of these cars, but for the centers to provide value that they need to, you really need to have a device that can process the information coming from real time. So if you are in a snow storm with your “Autonomous vehicle” and all the sudden you couldn’t get that internet connection it becomes potentially really dangerous situation, so we think that having these edge devices that would be build into your “Autonomous vehicle” to help make sure that the vehicle getting the update that needs. In factories today you starting to see people use these types of “edge devices” where it can help to predict that the machine or device going to start to see failure.

Edge computing enables-5G

Edge computing will minimize the latency of data processing as compared to cloud computing. High frequency data processing also intros that only relevant data is passed on across platform, this saves transmission and storage cost. Edge computing enables data analysis without delay in the field.

With 4G expected network latency for data traveling (transfer) from end user to core network is 100 Ms. Edge computing with 4G data traveling less far from end user to edge computer site which latency is less than 30ms. But edge computing with 5G network more data could travel as compared to 4G. That is why 5G is most needed technology for edge computing.
